170HX Developments in china

The modification of adding mosfets to the existing PCB has been deemed too cumbersome by some chinese GPU shops i work with, so they have taken the modification in another direction.

We are starting to see them remove 170HX cores and directly apply them to brand new A100 PCB's with some minor configurations to the PCB to enable compatibility. This will enable the modified 170HX cores to work statistically better than modifying the original boards, and make the upgrade easier. But the A100 PCB and heat-sink will add a significant cost to the upgrade.

no nvlink, ecc, or anything past pcie gen 3, this just makes installing the "mosfet" mod easier, well, if bga rework is easier on an underfilled GA100 chip... i guess only makes sense if you have significant pcb damage etc... it would cost about 600$ more for this a100 pcb kit.
